Our mission

We believe in bringing cheaper, borderless transactions to Latin America and the Caribbean

UffPay was built for the families who keep two countries connected. We combine modern payments technology with deep local expertise so every transfer home is fast, safe and affordable.

What we build on

AI investment, built into the product

UffPay Tech invests continuously in applied AI where it changes the outcome: financial crime prevention, identity verification with document capture and facial recognition, and customer service. The same engineering team that builds the wallet builds and operates these systems, with BlackEagle, our in-house compliance and risk platform, at the center.

Data Security

We implement rigorous KYC and AML controls, provide continuous transaction monitoring, and use state-of-the-art encryption to secure payments on the platform.

What AI actually changes for you

AI is not a badge on our site. It is why some things are faster. Identity checks that used to mean a branch visit run from your phone. Monitoring is targeted, so an ordinary transfer to your family is not stopped by a blunt rule. Support answers in your language the moment you ask instead of the next business day.

In-Country Managers

Our strategy is grounded in relevant experience and relationships with local partner organizations.

Trust architecture

BlackEagle: the trust layer behind every transfer

BlackEagle is UffPay's own compliance and risk platform. It sits behind the app and covers four jobs end to end. We built it in-house, which means the rules, the risk scores and the evidence stay under our control rather than a vendor's.

Verified identity before the first transfer

Every UffPay account starts with a verified identity. We capture and validate your official document, run Guatemala RENAP identity workflows, and complete customer due diligence before the account can move money. Only verified users can transact, so the person on the other side of your transfer has been checked too.

Reporting and regulatory posture

UffPay reports through the required channels in Guatemala, including UAF and IVE flows, and OFAC screening runs continuously rather than only at signup. Our PCI DSS program is in process. We do not claim a certification we have not completed, and we will say so here the day it changes.

Our journey

From build to borderless

  1. The build

    Platform built and integrated

We built the wallet and the BlackEagle compliance engine in-house, then integrated the processing stack end to end: NeoNet inside Guatemala, Fiserv and Clover in the United States. Both rails were live and tested before the first customer transaction.

  2. July 2025

    Beta live in Guatemala

Our friends-and-family beta started moving real money between real families, proving the product end to end.

  3. December 2025

    Independent focus groups

Independent focus groups tested the business model and the assumptions behind it with users in Guatemala and senders in the United States. The findings validated the model and shaped what we built next.

  4. Today

    Live in Guatemala

UffPay is available and in use in Guatemala. Send, receive, convert between dollars and quetzales, and move money between users, all from the app on iOS and Android.

  5. Next

    Visa prepaid card

The UffPay Visa prepaid card program is in final certification with our issuing partners. Cards are produced and ready to go out once certification completes.

  6. Beyond

    Regional exploration

Guatemala is our launch market and stays the focus alongside the United States. Nine further markets sit on a regional exploration roadmap, each subject to licensing, partners and local conditions.
